Winding Down

This weekend marks my last in the beautiful city Sevilla. Things are always bitter sweet when they come to and end, but right now it just seems bitter. Everything has turned into a "last" and I don't like it one bit! Last night was my last time experiencing the Sevilla night life, and I had a wonderful weekend dancing around town with my friends. Unfortunately we had a rainy couple of days, but it forced me to do a little school work for the first time in a while! This week I have my last two days of class, and then four exams and a paper due. That is a downfall of my program, they really pile on the work all at once and then expect you to be packed and out the door the next day. It sure makes it hard to enjoy the city, but I plan on being creative on my study spots this week because the weather is supposed to be gorgeous and the flowers are out in full bloom.

This Sunday afternoon I did get to have a "first"---my last "first" really. When my friend Aaron came to visit a couple weeks ago we were looking at post cards, and I noticed one spot that I had never seen or heard of before. After some investigation, I figured out that the "palacio mudejar" or muslim-stype palace was located in the Parque de María Luisa where I usually go to run, read, hang out in the Plaza de España, etc. but I just had never made it over that far. So this afternoon I ventured out with my friend Brandon to check out the palace that looked fantastic on the post card. It didn't disappoint, and I found my study spot for the next four days. The park is the largest in Sevilla and it is fantastic with flowers, fountains, waterfalls...I couldn't believe I had never journeyed over that far into it. The walk to the palace was enough to make it worth it. When we got there it was nice to just sit and the sun and enjoy the view. Really one of the prettiest in Sevilla. Shame on me for not finding it sooner!

Sorry Mom for not taking you to this place! But don't worry,
no Royals live here, it is a museum.

So now off to enjoy my last 5 days in Sevilla---time has never flown so fast and I still have so much to do that is hasn't quite hit me yet. Between studying for exams and planning a trip I am one busy girl! But things are shaping up all around, and I while I am heart broken to be leaving this place so soon, I have an adventure with my best friend to look forward to. If I thought my semester went by fast, my sister is graduating next weekend, and I'm sure she would say the same about her college career. Hang in there sista we will be reunited in Europe before you know it!
